Description of the project work

This project teaches approaches for optimizing the operation of a power plant park while taking plant specific constraints into account. After a general introduction of optimization procedures, a model for the optimization of power plant operation in a power system should be developed. The modeling is carried out as a mixed integer linear optimization problem in Matlab. In the end, the model as well as the resulting power plant schedules needs to be validated by use of an established test case as example.
