Stability in converter dominated transmission systems (M. Sc.)
This project introduces the new stability phenomena caused due to the increased integration of converter-based systems in the transmission grids. Additionally, it teaches approaches to investigate such instabilities in a converter-based system. In this project, the stability problem is first introduced and system theory required for working on the project is presented. Using Matlab/Simulink tools, converter-based system in both frequency domain and time domain is provided. The analysis is carried out using system theory techniques in frequency domain and is validated using time domain models. Lastly, the factors influencing the stability are determined.
