Description of the lecture

The block course (V2Ü1) is divided into individual lectures in which different aspects of the HVDC topic are addressed. The course is supplemented by an intensive exercise and optionally a technical excursion to an HVDC station (probably in SoSe2022).

In the current cycle, the course will again be conducted in presence. Two full-day sessions with 7 to 8 lectures each are planned, in which comprehensively relevant aspects of HVDC technology will be addressed. In the context of an intensive exercise, the core contents of the lecture will be deepened once again and tested by a written examination (ungraded certificate of achievement; physical in Aachen).

The course is primarily aimed at students in the master's degree program in electrical engineering or industrial engineering and management (electrical power engineering) and is currently offered exclusively in German.

Students can register free of charge via RWTHonline. The number of participants is (presumably) limited to 40 places.

Upon successful completion of the course, each student will be issued a certificate of achievement for 4 ECTS. This requires participation in the four lecture sessions, the intensive exercise and passing the exam. The detailed course dates can be found on RWTHonline. If you have any questions, please contact Mrs. Anhaus and Mrs. Krüger.

Note: The course cannot be credited as a seminar, since no presentations have to be prepared by the students and the course therefore has the character of a lecture.
