Description of the lecture
This block event (V2Ü1) is composed of individual lectures addressing different aspects of HVDC transmission. The lecture is followed by an additional exercise and, optionally, a field trip to a real HVDC plant (depending on the pandemic situation; at the earliest in SoSe2021). In the current semester, it will be conducted via web.
Four half-day sessions with 3 to 4 lectures each are planned, in which relevant aspects of the HVDC technology are presented. The course is followed by an intensive exercise in which the core contents of the lecture will be deepened. The course is completed by a written examination taking place physically in Aachen.
The course is primarily aimed at students in the Master's programme in Electrical Engineering or Industrial Engineering and Management (Electrical Power Engineering) and currently only available in German language. Students of RWTH Aachen can register free of charge via RWTHonline. The number of participants is practically not limited.
Upon successful completion of the course, each student will be awarded a certificate of successful completion worth 4 ECTS credits. The successful completion requires participation during the four lecture sessions, the intensive exercise and the successful completion of the examination. The detailed course dates can be obtained from RWTHonline. If you have any additional questions, please contact Mr Köhler or Mr Kaiser.
Please note: The course cannot be credited as a seminar, since there are no lectures to be prepared by the students and therefore the course has the character of a lecture.
