Description of the laboratory course

This compulsory basic laboratory (SS, 3 SWS) is supervised by the research associates of IAEW. The students work on practical tasks in small groups (usually 3 participants) and document their work by means of a protocol. The confirmation of attendance is based on

  • Proof of sufficient preparation of each experiment
  • Presence and cooperation in the groups during the entire laboratory course
  • Delivery of complete documentation and interpretation of results

Course contents

Practical tasks in electrical engineering to prepare and work out the theoretical contents of the previous semester.

  • Circuit configuration
  • Analysis of components and circuits
  • Use of measuring devices and simulation tools
  • Error calculation in the measuring process and with regard to measuring errors

Educational goals

  • Consolidation of the theoretical contents of the previous semester
  • Structured and comprehensible documentation of technical facts in the protocol
  • Solution of practical tasks in a group: discussion of the problem, development of a solution approach, division of tasks
