Description of the laboratory course

This laboratory course (TÜ4) takes place every winter semester. This course is organised in a cooperation with the Institute of Electrical Machines (IEM) and the Institute of Power Electronics and Electrical Drives (ISEA).

Course contents

  • Synchronous machine as motor and generator (IEM)
  • Separately excited DC machine series-wound machine (IEM)
  • Asynchronous machine with squirrel-cage and slip ring rotor (IEM)
  • Equivalent circuits of three phase transformers (IAEW)
  • Three phase transmission lines under normal and fault operation (IAEW)
  • Protection against electric shock (IAEW)
  • Line-commutated converters (ISEA)
  • DC chopper controller (ISEA)
  • Pulse-width-modulation inverter (ISEA)
  • Measurement of Alternating Voltages / Breakdown measurements (IAEW)
  • Generation and measurement of DC voltages (IAEW)
  • Surge voltages (IAEW)
