Review: CIGRE Sessions 2022
The IAEW was represented last week at the first edition of the CIGRE Sessions in person since the beginning of the Corona pandemic and contributed to the activities of the Study Committees A3, B1, B2, B4, C5, C6 and D1.
Ralf Puffer, Nils Langenberg, Thomas Offergeld, Patrick Düllmann and Isabella Nett participated in working meetings of their respective Working Groups during the Sessions.
Patrick Düllmann and Isabella Nett also presented their papers "European offshore grid: On protection system design for radial bipolar multi-terminal HVDC networks" and "Experimental investigations on electro-thermal ageing of EPDM for HVDC cable joints" during the poster sessions of the Study Committees B4 and D1, respectively, and additionally contributed to the respective Group Discussion Meetings.
The 5 conference and exhibition days with more than 3500 registered visitors provided the right setting to meet again in person and to exchange and inform about current trends and developments. Networking was also not neglected during the social events.
With the end of the conference week, the position of the German representative in the Study Committee C5 "Electricity Markets and Regulation" was handed over to Albert Moser. Congratulations for the new task!
